Kanon literally joined Wien's new idol club and her new goal was for them to be in the same group one day. We all know that both Wien and Tomari will join Liella in the end. But let's see the process.

I loved how Kanon did not re-join Liella to join the new school idol club, a refresing new story for the third season start!
It will be very interesting to see how these two come together in the process!

This episode somehow made me like Margarete even more.
Kanon new training outfit looks like 90s(?)
The only way to convert Margarete is infiltrating. So Kanon become Khibuya Sanon.

yes, always happened with Love Live Superstar. It's NHK-e exclusive rights where they got exclusive rights to air earlier on their channel than everyone else.

I don’t get a lot of the criticism I’m seeing about this season honestly. I like the idea of Kanon and Margarethe teaming up and training to compete against Liella. I do think the reason for the study abroad getting cancelled was a little weak, but man honestly I just want more of my girls so whatever reason they came up I’m cool with.
Making another school idol club and trying to surpass Liella should be a fun time and allow some good character development. Kanon and Margarethe got off on the wrong foot before, but I can see them becoming great friends and I’m here for it.
Episode looked gorgeous, superstar has always looked pretty but it looks extra pretty this time around. Both the OP and ED bang and this was just a cool first episode back in general. Can’t wait for next episode

Looking forward to see how is this new rival group going, as well about Liella's development. Also, I'm interested for how much Onitsuka Tomari's character can be described throughout this anime.

I just hope This season writing can juggle and give the same attention between the two groups, and how it will converge into one, and not just giving one group all the attention.

My take from this, I'm already glad that there is season 3, I came for Kanon and honestly even tho it doesn't make sense, it's quite interesting to see Kanon instead of rejoining she is competing with Liella!, it feels refreshing to see at Love Live! franchise. I'm looking forward to this

@Hitotsuyanagi27 they surely will be together sooner or later because the Love Live! competition restriction is only 1 entry per school.
Unless they really want to stick to just having one or the other join Love Live!
That's why the Nijigasaki members, as solo idols, didn't choose to participate but joined a different competition in their movie trilogy.
Unless they can give us multiple rivals to go up against Liella!, the Love Live! competition format is just flawed and restricts creativity from the writers.

We got some funny moments when Kanon tries to hide from Liella other members, but also some 'conflict' being set up between Margarete and Liella.
I have no doubt that Kanon being a 'rival' to Liella won't last very long but it still should be interesting and amusing to see.
There is another new girl in addition to Margarete, and I'm very curious about her, she seems decided to also join to 'new' idol club.
Also, the new ED is gorgeous, loved it!
Overall, a decent first episode for this third season!

Season 1 is fun and enjoy to watch
Season 2 and 3 maybe they try new concept but it get rid the fun and enjoy moment.

Margaret is talented but her attitude like that makes it hard for me to like her and makes me annoyed, ah why did Kanon join Margaret instead of returning to Liella... a new concept that I don't like

Two rival school idol group in a same school? What's the point being rival, then try to merge back into one. They both are finalist & winner of LL though, so definitely will got attention through out Japan. Other school doesn't have talented group that could win?
Idk man, LL Superstar being weird for try a new concept, and it's becoming worse. LL should try to learn from Bandori, especially It's MyGo or recently Girls Band Cry on how to make a proper rival group though.
Nevertheless, I'm still watch & supporting LL Superstar to the whole. Hope it's become more interesting.

Starting off with two separate groups is definitely a nice way to spice things up. I'd guess that they're going to join together roughly around the middle shortly before the Love Live, but we'll see what happens.
Kanon being awkward about telling the others that she's not moving to a different school felt a bit too relatable for my comfort 😅

We're back with more Love Live! And I absolutely loved that first episode to this! I had a lot of fun watching this, and I am very happy to see all the girls again. A banger of an opening and ending too. And I'm honestly here to see where this season's going, cause that was a pretty interesting start as well.

Kanon joining Margarete to rival Liella is an interesting turn of events. After the not so good second cour of S2 it got me hyped again for the final year.

About time I got to watch it, my favorite LL group on both anime and irl are back, I'm glad this episode had plenty of Kanon x Chisato because that was lacking horribly the previous season, I'm also thankful that the show has the LL style instead of that new look they decided to have for Nijigasaki, not a fan of that one bit, so looking forward to Margarete being part of the show since Yuina is already a great addition, great voice and she is super fun at lives and videos, events, etc. Finally got to listen to Tomari actual voice and not just her singing but it was like 2 lines lol.

The rampant refusal to communicate was beyond obnoxious. Not just the characters either (though Kanon was awful), but dragging out the cliffhanger from the end of S2 with cuts and interruptions. Fuck the writer. And now Margarete and Kanon are being forced to remain in Japan for no real good reason, and they are going to form a counter group to Liella for even stupider reasons. It makes no sense for Margarete to refuse to join Liella out of pride but allow Kanon to join her. New season, and they continue to insist on creating separation within the group.

Well, that's an interesting twist. She's technically following the school's order then. I imagine they'll join Liela eventually in the end? At least the ED seems to suggest that, including a new member with the cyan hair. Room for character development bountiful here.
